Abstract
Abstract Apparatus for producing carbon dioxide extrusions such as pellets by flashing carbon dioxide liquid to form carbon dioxide snow and vapor in a chamber. A reciprocating piston in the cylinder compresses the snow material and extrudes compacted carbon dioxide snow through extrusion orifices at one end of the chamber. The chamber is constructed with openings in the lateral wall to permit part of the snow to be ejected therethrough into a snow retaining box, the snow in the box being employed as a porous filter to separate the vapor from the snow within the chamber.
