Abstract BASIC CATALYSTS FOR THE POLYMERIZATION OF ALKYLENE OXYIDES ARE REMOVED FROM THE RESULTING POLYALKYLENE ETHER BY PRECIPITATING THE CATALYSTS WITH CARBON DIOXIDE IN THE PRESENCE OF BASIC MAGNESIUM SALTS. THE RESULTING POLYALKYLENE ETHERS ARE ESPECIALLY SUITED FOR USE IN POLYURETHANE FOAMS.
