Abstract

Abstract A cutting blade ultrasonically driven and constituting an acoustical impedance transformer which has a longitudinal cutting edge and a length which is substantially equal to an integral number of half wavelengths at the frequency at which the blade is driven. Method and apparatus for cutting a soft yielding bakery product involving ultrasonically vibrating the knife blade that is to cut the product.
