Abstract A NOVEL POLYMER IS PREPARED BY THE CONDENSATION OF AN ALKYLADAMANTANE DIAMINE OF THE FOLLOWING STRUCTURE: 1,3-BIS(NH2-CH2-),5-R1,7-R2-ADAMANTANE WHERE EACH OF R1 AND R2 IS AN ALKYL RADICAL HAVI G 1-10 CARBON ATOMS AND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: DIANHYDRIDE OF 1,2,4,5-BENZENE-TETRACARBOXYLIC ACID AND 3,4,3'',4''-BENZOPHENONETETRACARBOXYLIC DIANHYDRIDE. THE RESULTING POLYMER IS THERMALLY STABLE AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND IS USEFUL AS A FIBER, FILM OR SHEET.
