Abstract

Abstract Rectangular AT-cut quartz crystal plates designed for the frequency range of 1 to 6 MHz have width-to-thickness ratios chosen from the ranges 2.5 to 3.5, 5.5 to 7, 8.5 to 10, and 11.5 to 13.5 to avoid length-width shear resonances and thus eliminate unwanted resonances near the desired thickness-shear resonance. These rectangular AT-cut plates offer significant manufacturing and packaging advantages over existing AT-cut plates.
