Abstract
Abstract POWDERED OXIDES OR HYDROXIDES, INCLUDING HYDRATED OXIDES OF CADMIUM, INDIUM, LEAD AND ZINC, INDIVIDUALLY OR AS MIXTURES ARE DISPERSED IN AN ELASTOMER. SUCH DISPERSIONS ARE USED TO MAKE SURFACE COATING ON NON-CONDUCTIVE SUBSTRATES AND THE METAL COMPOUND IN THESE COATINGS IS REDUCED TO METAL BY CHEMICAL OR ELECTROCHEMICAL MEANS TO PRODUCE SURFACES WHICH ARE HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE. WHEN DESIRED, THESE COMPOSITIONS CAN BE PLATED TO PRODUCE METAL SURFACE ON THE NON-CONDUCTIVE SUBSTRATE FOR EITHER DECORATIVE OR UTILITARIAN PURPOSES.
