Abstract

Abstract A disposable garbage container is provided which will degrade in situ in a garbage dump. The container is made of a plastic film, e.g., a polyvinyl alcohol plastic film which will dissolve in the presence of moisture at temperatures of at least about 100*F. One embodiment of the invention includes a degradable garbage container made of a plastic sheet material which comprises a laminate or a mixture of cold water soluble polyvinyl alcohol and hot water soluble polyvinyl alcohol.
