Abstract

Abstract Disclosed is a method of forming a composite superconductive body comprising a porous glass matrix having a granular system of superconductive material disposed within the pores thereof. Adjacent grains of supercondcutive material are spatially separated but are electrically connected by electron tunneling. The critical field of these granular superconductors can be modified by processing either the porous glass matrix or the molten superconductor prior to impregnation of the superconductive material into the matrix.
