Abstract
Abstract This invention relates to a surgical pump primarily designed for the pumping of blood, as in open-heart surgery or for pumping blood through a ''''kidney machine,'''' but also particularly adapted for other surgical uses, such as pumping dialycate in a ''''kidney machine,'''' or the like; and is characterized by the fact that it provides direct and continuous volumetric adjustment from 0 to the maximum size of the pump even while in use; is small in size and light-weight; is readily adjustable as to the force applied to the liquid being pumped, and has independently adjustable timing of the diastole and sistole portions of a pumping cycle.
