Abstract
Abstract Pneumatic tires and other elastomeric articles subject to tensile stress and dynamic flexure in service, said articles having no reinforcing elements, or having reinforcing elements in portions only thereof, are made from elastomers having, in the cured state, a molecular weight between covalent cross-links of 5,100 - 40,000, and a molecular weight between electrostatic cross-links of 800 - 5,000. Such articles exhibit excellent strength, elasticity, tear resistance, flat-spotting properties and overall performance in service, both at ambient and elevated temperatures.
