Abstract

Abstract The signal processing device for controlling the supply of heat energy to the heating coil utilizes a circuit in which a signal is produced in proportion to the resistance of the roll. The signal is obtained from signals proportional to the voltage measured in the coil and the current in the coil. The proportional signal is then used to shut off or open the supply of heat energy to the coil if the signal exceeds or falls below a pre-set signal corresponding to the desired roll temperature.
