Abstract A PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF A PURIFIED NON-TOXIC LIPOPOLYSACCHARIDE, WHICH COMPRISES PRECIPITATING THE LIPOPOLYSACCHARIDES WITH A SALT FROM THE CULTURE SUPERNATANT OF GRAM-NEGATIVE BACTERIA, GROWN UNDER CONDITIONS OF VIGOROUS AERATION, REDISSOLVING THE LOPOPOLYSACCHARIDES, DIALYSING THE REDISSOLVED PRECIPITATE, APPLYING THE SOLUPREFERENTIALLY RETAINING THE TOXIC LOPOPOLYSACCHARIDE (ENDOTOXIN) UNTIL THE ELUTED AND ISOLATED PRODUCT IS SUBSTANTIALLY HOMOGENOUS AND NON-TOXIC.
