Abstract AN ENDOSCOPE HAVING A FLEXIBLE DISTAL END PORTION COMPRISING A DISTAL TIP AND PLURALITY OF ARTICULATED SEGMENTS, A LESS FLEXIBLE CENTRAL PORTION, A RIGID PROXIMAL END, A CONTROL ASSEMBLY OPERATED AT THE PROXIMAL END AND INCLUDING CONTROL WIRES PASSING THROUGH THE APPARATUS TO THE DISTAL TIP, AND A FIBER BUNDLE OPTICAL SYSTEM. A CON- DUIT FOR SUPPLYING WATER AND AIR AND AN ASPIRATION CONDUIT MAY ALSO BE PROVIDED WITHIN THE ENDOSCOPE.
