Abstract
Abstract An encoding method and apparatus for transmitting sequences of video pulses produced by a television camera scanning graphic information of limited complexity, such as a line drawing, over a transmission medium having limited bandwidth, include encoding the time interval between video pulses into a voltage level having a predetermined time duration and having an amplitude proportional to the time interval between video pulses, transmitting the voltage levels, and decoding the voltage levels into the original sequence of video pulses.
