Abstract A VOLTAGE TO FREQUENCY CIRCUIT IS PROVIDED, WHICH UTILIZES AN OSCILLATOR HAVING A VOLTAGE SENSITIVE CAPACITOR THEREIN. MEANS ARE PROVIDED FOR CHECING THE SPAN OF THE CIRCUIT PERIODICALLY AND FOR TRANSMITTING THE SPAN CHECK SIGNALS TO A COMPUTER. THE OSCILLATOR INPUT CIRCUIT IS DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE DIRECT CURRENT PATHS TO GROUND.
