Abstract
Abstract Devices, systems, and methods are employed to perform an atherectomy in an identified region to restore patency to arterial lesions. A bioactive material is introduced into the identified region before, after or during performing the atherectomy. The bioactive material can be introduced, e.g., on a balloon coated with the bioactive material, which is expanded in contact with the identified region to deliver the bioactive material. The bioactive material can be, e.g., at least one of a restenosis-inhibiting agent, a thrombus-inhibiting agent, and an anti-inflammatory agent.

13 . A method of treating a region of a blood vessel comprising: identifying a first arterial site at or below the knee having occlusive material forming a lesion; introducing a distal end of a catheter at an access site above the knee, wherein the catheter comprises a cutting assembly at the distal end of the catheter and a slotted tube comprising a first slot pattern in a proximal portion of the catheter and a second slot pattern in a distal portion of the catheter; advancing the cutting assembly to the first arterial site; and rotating a cutter of the cutting assembly to remove occlusive material from the lesion.
