Abstract

Abstract A dental implant for supporting a prosthetic tooth or crown. The implant includes an apical insert and a coronal base. The base is typically non-circular and is supported on the insert. The insert and base include interlocking features that permit the base to be positioned relative to the insert to better fit the implantation site. The implant is adapted to receive and support an abutment, upon which the prosthetic tooth or crown will be mounted.
