Abstract The existing handrail (1) is fixed to the wall of the stairwell using mounting brackets (2). The children's handrail (7) is supported from the fixed handrail (1) by clamps (4) which are fixed around the rail, hinged rods (5) and sleeve clamp couplings (6) around the children's handrail (7).
