Spacer ring fitting device for oil ring group in oil ring groove of piston

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To greatly enhance the fitting efficiency of a spacer ring into an oil ring groove by guiding the spacer ring held in a ring magazine toward a piston with the use of an abutment aligning guide and an abutment overlap preventing guide. CONSTITUTION:An abutment aligning guide 39 and an abutment overlap preventing guide 41 which are arranged in one row are fixed to one side of the outer periphery of a ring magazine 16, the abutment aligning guide 39 being provided therein with right and left guide surfaces 39 for guiding the abutments 6 of a plurality of spacer rings 6, and the abutment overlap preventing guide 41 being provided therein with right and left inclined surfaces for leading the end parts of the abutments of the spacer rings 6 so that they are pressed against a piston P without the abutments being overlapped. Accordingly, the spacer rings 6 having been held on the outer periphery of the ring magazine and been stacked one upon another are elevated being guided by the abutment aligning guide 39 and 41, and are pressed against the piston P by the abutment overlap preventing guide 41, thereby the spacer rings 6 may be smoothly introduced into an oil ring groove.
