Method and apparatus for reproducing optical memory
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To attain ease of reading of information by using principles of interference between two ray fluxes and detecting the presence of change in the shape of a reflecting face of an optical memory as an intensity difference of light interference to increase the output difference larger depending on whether the shape change exists or not. CONSTITUTION:The 1st optical beam 42a is made incident on a flat reflecting plane of an information track 81 and the 1st optical beam 43a is made incident on a flat reflecting face 83 respectively. In this state, the reflected light from them and the reflected light of the 2nd optical beams 42b, 43b from a reflecting mirror 11 are detected respectively by photodetectors 101, 103. After first a light-intensity modulator 13 adjusts the photo intensity of the reflected light of the 2nd optical beam to be equal to the light intensity of the reflected light of the 1st optical beam. Succeedingly, the reflection mirror 11 is moved in any direction shown in the arrow B to change the optical length of the 2nd optical beams 42b, 43b to be adjusted so that the intensity of the light interface of the 1st and 2nd optical beams is minimized and the output signal from the photodetectors 101, 103 is minimized. The output signal of the photodetectors 101 and 103 is zeroed through the light interference.
