Inside furnace profile measuring apparatus
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To eliminate installation of the reference point by calculating an inside furnace profile, by installing optical-wave range finder, light-beam scanner and cooling method for both and receiving a signal from the range finder and the scanner to a profile computer. CONSTITUTION:The measuring head 20 inserted in a furnace is provided with annular cooling chambers 38A, 48A fed by coolant through a supporting arm (not shown) and on the outside surface of cooling sheaths 38, 48 with a refractory cover layer 40 and on the inside with a light-wave range finder 34. Further, a light-beam propagating along the central axis X from the range finder 34 is scanned up to a direction perpendicular to the axis X by the 1st-3rd fixed mirrors, 62, 64 and 66 and a rotating mirror 68 and by allowing the beam to rotate around the axis X through an angle of 360 deg., a reflected beam from a furnace wall is introduced into the range finder 34 as an output. Further, rotating angle signals of an oscillating motor 70 and a motor 76 for scanning and on output signal of the range finder 34 are transmitted to a profile computing apparatus set on a carrier wagon on the other end of the supporting arm for profile computation.
