Gear engaging device

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To engage automatically a master gear to a gear to be tested, and to prevent a deflection, etc. by fixing the master gear after the engagement, by engaging an adjusting gear which is held and the master gear, also executing tooth matching of the gear to be tested and the master gear rotating the master gear by several pitches through the adjusting gear, and engaging them, in case when the tooth matching state is bad and the gears are not engaged. CONSTITUTION:As a clamp member 45 lowers, a driving pin 47 lowers, too, a connecting rod 29 rotates by a prescribed angle centering around a revolving shaft 26, and the revolving shaft 26 and a sector 28 fitted to the revolving shaft 26 rotate by a serval pitch portion. Subsequently, when the sector 28 rotates, a master gear 20 engaged to it rotates by a several pitch portion, sliding on the surface of a fixed gear to be tested 2, and when tooth matching of both gears 2, 20 becomes good, external force to the master gear 20 is eliminated, a rocking block 14 is rocked downward by accumulated elasticity of a spring 25, following which the master gear 20 is engaged to the gear to be tested 2, and also its engagement to the sector 28 is released.
