Side mirror mounted in cover of driving mirror and movable in and out

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To avoid the blocking of viewing and improve appearance, by housing a side mirror in a driving mirror. CONSTITUTION:A side mirror 2, 3 is mounted in the cover 4 of a driving mirror 1 so that the side mirror 2, 3 is vertically moved by legs 8 which are actuated by a motor 29. When it is necessary to view the right and left, a switch installed in front of a driver's seat is pressed to move up the side mirror 2, 3, the motor 29 is rotated clockwise and an automatic switch 37 is closed to pull a shaft 10 for the legs 8. The side mirror 2, 3 is thus moved up. At that time, a shaft 11 is engaged with a hook 25. When a mirror 2, 3 is moved up to its top position, the automatic switch 37 is opened and a hook 23 is disengaged to open the side mirror 3. After viewing of the right and left and resumption of driving, the switch in front of the driver's seat is pressed for downward movement so that the side mirror 2, 3 is closed and put in the cover 4.
