Coupling device for light
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To improve coupling efficiency by a method wherein an indentation section is formed on one surface of thermoplastic resin convering a luminous element, and an end of an optical fiber is contacted with the indentation section. CONSTITUTION:The outside of a luminous diode is made of thermoplastic resin, and an indentation section 7 is made up at a location corresponding to the luminous chip 3. With the indentation section 7, the diameter is conformed to a diameter of an optical fiber while the bottom surface is finished in a mirror surface. The optical fibe 4 is supported by means of a coupling cap 8 unified with the luminous diode 1, and its end is contacted with the indentation section 7. The fiber is supported by fixing the fiber to the coupling cap 8 with adhesives 9, pushing the end of the optical fiber 4 against the luminous diode.
