Soil resistant finishing agent composition

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: The titled composition with excellent soil resistance to a dry soil, suitable for the soil resistant finish of carpet, etc., which comprises a specified urethane compd. contg. a polyfluoroalkyl group and an ammonium methacrylate polymer. CONSTITUTION: The purpose soil resistant finishing agent composition is obtd. by compounding a urethane compd. of formula I [wherein Rf 1 is 4W16C polyfluoroalkyl; X 1 is alkylene, formula II or III; R 2 is H or lower alkyl; Q 1 is a bivalent org. group.; A 1 and A 2 are -O-, -S- or -N(R 3 )-; R 3 is H or lower alkyl; Y 1 is a bivalent org. group; Z is a monovalent hydrophobic org. group] with an ammonium methacrylate polymer in a wt. ratio of 1/100W100/1. The soil resistant finishing agent dispersed in a medium primarily composed of water contg. a water-soluble org. solvent (e.g., a dioxane or tetrahydrofuran) is particularly suitable for practical use.
