Laser gyroscope

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE: To make high-precision measurements possible by counting the number of beats while a ring laser turns once and by subtracting the number of bias beats from the count number. CONSTITUTION: A ring laser, consisting of YAG laser 12, reflex mirrors 13aW13c, and translucent mirror 14a, is fixed on substrate 15. A beat signal sent from photo detector 18a is counted by counter 19. Photo detector 18b, on the other hand, constitutes the rotation detecting method of substrate 15. Register 21 and subtracter 22 constitute a subtracting method and a high-precision output can be obtained from subtracter 22. COPYRIGHT: (C)1980,JPO&Japio
