Guide wire for catheter
Abstract
Abstract PURPOSE:To reduce excessive forcing in and back of a guide wire during the operation by arranging a body section highly rigid and a tip soft with a lower rigidity than the body section to make the surface of the tip alone lubricate when it is swelled. CONSTITUTION:A core material is made up of a first filamentary body 2 comprising material highly rigid (e.g. stainless steel) forming a body section 10 and a second filamentary body 3 comprising a material soft with a low rigidity (e.g. Ni-Ti-based alloy) connected to the tip of the filamentary body 2. A first synthetic resin layer 8 (e.g. fluororesin) covering an outer surface of the filamentary body 2 and a second synthetic resin layer 5 (e.g. polyester) covering the outer surface of the filamentary body 3 are arranged, and moreover, the surface alone of the synthetic resin layer 5 is made as such that will lubricate (carboxy methyl starch) when it is swelled. This reduces possibility of excessive forcing in an back of the guide wire during the operation with a certain degree of operating resistance.
