Preparation of polyurethane

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To prepare a polyurethane excellent in the resistance to freezing, hydrolysis, and heat, mechanical properties, etc., by reacting a polyol contg. a specified amt. of a specific polyolefin polyol, a polyisocyanate, and a chain extender. CONSTITUTION:A polyol component contg. 10-40wt.% polyolfin polyol comprising structural units of formula I and/or formula II (wherein R<1> and R<2> are each H or methyl; and R<3> is ethyl or isopropyl) and having hydroxyl groups in the molecule and a number-average mol.wt. of 700-7000, a polyisocyanate (e.g. 4, 4'-diphenylmethane diisocyanate), and a chain extender (e.g. 1, 4-butanediol) are reacted to give a polyurethane, which is suitable used as a sheet, hose, belt, packing, gear, etc.
