Sheath device for endoscope

Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To smoothly insert the insertion tube of an endoscope to the tip of a sheath by forming a taper section on a sheath cover, and restricting the axial extension of the sheath when the sheath is expanded. CONSTITUTION:A sheath 2 is inserted into a sheath cover 4, and a cylinder 21 is surrounded by a sheath cover cylinder 41. An air feed nipple 43 is connected to an air feed tube 44. When only the tip section of the insertion tube 1 of an endoscope is inserted through the basal end section of the sheath 2 while an air feed pump 70 is operated and air is fed into the sheath 2, the space between a packing 31 and the outer face of the insertion tube 1 is sealed, and the cylinder 21 starts to be expanded. The tip portion of the cylinder 21 is brought into contact with the taper section of the sheath cover cylinder 41, the extension in the longitudinal direction is suppressed in sequence, and it is not extended in the axial direction. When the cylinder 21 is expanded until it collides with the inner periphery of the sheath cover cylinder 41, the insertion tube 1 is inserted toward the tip supporter 23 of the sheath 2, and the air feed pump 70 is stopped to stop air feeding when the tip reaches the tip supporter 23 portion of the sheath 2.
