Abstract

Abstract PURPOSE:To enlarge a storage capacity by means of a simple manufacture process by providing recording layers absorbing laser beams on both sides of a transparent supporting body, generating a tracking line part by means of laser irradiation from the side of a recording layer and recording information in a recording layer on an opposite side. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer for tracking line generation 2a and the recording layer for information recording 2b are generated on both sides of the transparent supporting body 1 and the transparent substrates 3a and 3b are provided on said recording substrates. The layers 2a and 2b include coloring matters absorbing the laser beam such as cyanin coloring matter. The tracking line 4 is generated with using a tracking servo pickup 6a (laser beams are semiconductor laser beams, for example) and irradiating a laser spot from the side of the layer 2a. Next, information bit is generated in the recording layer 5 with using a recording reproducing pickup 6b and servo-operating the tracking line while the laser spot is irradiated through the tracking line 4.
