Abstract
Abstract 793,984. Inflatable dinghies. R.F.D. CO., Ltd., MITCHELL, S., and EDWARDS, D. V. Dec. 21, 1956 [Jan. 2, 1956], No. 56/56. Class 113. An inflatable dinghy has inflatable arches 16, 17 for supporting a canopy 18. A central part 18a of this canopy is attached at opposite sides, or at each end, to the dinghy by lanyards, and the edges of the canopy may be furled by lanyards 24 to permit easy access to the dinghy. Lines 27 attached to the canopy and dinghy assist in unfurling the canopy which has an elastic cord in its edge to slip over and contract on the buoyancy chamber 13. The canopy is provided with windows, apertures 31 with interior sleeves, and may be multi-lanyered and provided with cavities for thermal insulation. A drain outlet may be fitted through which drain water collected on the top of the canopy can be withdrawn.
