Abstract
Abstract 758,198. Wall and like brackets. SQUIRES, F., WALKER, K. G., and BELLIS, G. Sept. 16, 1954 [Sept. 22, 1953], No. 26055/53. Class 52(5). [Also in Groups I and XXV] Means for fixing aerials and the like to chimneys or other structures comprise a bracket supported on an angle of the structure, a wire extending round the structure, securing devices associated with the bracket for anchoring the ends of the wire, and tightening means engaging the wire to strain it and removable from the bracket when the strained wire has been anchored. As shown, bracket arms 10, 11 fitting a corner 12 of a chimneystack 13 have jaws 14 and straps 34, 26 to receive a tightening spindle 25 the upper end of which is rotatable in a boss 30 incorporating a ratchet and pawl and secured to the bracket by screw-threadedstuds 36 which also secure the strap 34. A wire 35 is passed round the chimney and under collars 18, the ends of the wire being secured in a slot 25b in the spindle which is rotated until the wire is taut when the nuts 19 are tightened to clamp the wire between collars 18 and depressions 17. The wire is cut at x, x and the spindle removed from the jaws and replaced by the aerial mast.
