Abstract
Abstract 751,991. Discharge apparatus. GLAXO LABORATORIES, Ltd. Jan. 5, 1955 [March 18, 1954], No. 7916/54. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XVII] The surface of a glass bottle accidentally coated with a silicone, e.g. in applying a silicone to the interior, is treated with a high-frequency electrical discharge so that a label, cap, &c. will stick. The electrode 3, Fig. 1, of a Tesla coil has teeth 4 of aluminium foil. The electrode may be an annulus 6, Fig. 3, with teeth 7 suspended above the top of the bottle 9 or a thin blade tapered to a fine edge. The blade may be mounted to swing freely and wipe the tops of bottles as they move past on a conveyer. Specifications 744,249 and 748,843, [both in Group XVII], are referred to.
