Device for controlling sideways movements of material bands or the like
Abstract
Abstract 748,612. Automatic alignment control. LARSSON, N. G. June 24, 1953 [June 26, 1962], No. 17551/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (4). In a system for automatically correcting deviations in the lateral registration of moving webs, as detected by feeler switches, the feeler member is coupled through a friction drive to the switch. As described the friction drive comprises a cord tensioned by a weight and running over a rotatable drum to operate a tilting mercury switch, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown). One feeler member is mounted on each side of the web to control a reversible servomotor driving a screw-and-nut bearing adjuster for the steering roll, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown). The Specification states that instead of operating a switch the feeling member may operate a device to control a fluid pressure system.
