Abstract
Abstract 742,436. Cauterizing appliances. WOTTON, C. S. R. Sept. 21, 1954 [Oct. 5, 1953], No. 27299/53. Class 81(2). [Also in Group XI] In an electrically-heated cauterizing spatula the blade has a hollow shank mounted over a tubular member which encloses the heating element. A metal tube 10 encloses a heating element 15 at its lower end supplied through leads 21. The upper end is secured in an insulating handle 13 which is connected over the upper part of the tube by a threaded bush 14. The blade 23 is of silver and is connected to a split sleeve 24 which engages over the tube 10 in heat-conducting contact and is retained by a collar 27. If desired, a switch may be mounted on the handle to control a supplementary heating element.
