Abstract
Abstract 738,051. Earth-boring equipment. HALLS, J. E. May 11, 1953, No. 13138/53. Class 85. A drill pipe protector 10 is formed by an outer tubular lamination 10b of synthetic rubber bonded to an inner tubular lamination 10a of natural rubber. The internal and external surfaces of the protector diverge radially and axially from the centre of the protector towards the ends thereof, the divergence of the outer surface being less than that of the inner surface and terminating short of the ends of the outer lamination. The ends of the outer lamination, which covers the ends of the inner lamination, are stepped at 10f and 10g.
