Improvements relating to hypodermic needles
Abstract
Abstract 717,594. Hypodermic needles. WARD, F. KINGDON-. Oct. 22, 1952 [Nov. 13, 1951; Dec. 4, 19511, Nos. 26558/51 and 28385/51. Class 81(2) The point of a hypodermic needle is formed by imposing a plane, or slightly concave, bevel on the end of a tubular shaft, the bevel extending down to the line of intersection of two continguous plane surfaces and the cross-section of the needle adjacent to the point being bounded by a straight-sided figure. Preferably the two plane surfaces extend at approximately 90 degrees to each other. In the form shown four plane surfaces 17, 18, 19, 20 are formed on the needle shaft, so that its cross-section is square, and the, bevel extends from one line of its intersection 21 to the line diametrically opposite thereto, and the edges of the faces 17, 18 form the cutting edges of the needle.
