Improvements in and relating to antennas for radio apparatus
Abstract
Abstract 707,142. Aerials. POLYDOROFF, W. J. Dec. 4, 1951 [Dec. 4, 1950], No. 29628/50. Class 40 (7) An aerial comprises a wire wound helically upon a ferromagnetic core. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the core comprises a plurality of elongated tubes 1 of compressed carbonyl iron powder, threaded upon a conducting rod 4, the helically wound wire 5 being connected at one end to the rod 4, the other ends of the rod 4 and wire 5 serving as the connecting leads to the radio apparatus. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, the wire 5a is wound upon a lowpermeability thin-walled ferrite core 6, within which a cylindrical core 7 of higher permeability material is slidably arranged, thus permitting an adjustment of the effective permeability of the core. The two ends of the wire 5a provide the connections to the radio apparatus. Specification 522,492 is referred to.
