Improvements relating to point contact rectifiers
Abstract
Abstract 629,215. Detectors ; receiving systems. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., NEWMAN, D. J., and EVANS, J. H. Oct. 31, 1947, No. 29131. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] In a point contact detector the cat's whisker inductance is arranged to series resonate with the contact capacitance. The detector may be formed in a metal cartridge mounted within a shouldered recess in the outer conductor of a coaxial cable with the whisker supported in an insulating disc having a central plug engaging the inner conductor. The units may be employed as rectifiers of opposite polarity in balanced mixer circuits. Specification 573,837 is referred to.
