Abstract 605,328. Electrically heated paint scrapers. BARRAND, J. E., McGURK, R. J., and WALLER, R. R. June 6, 1945, No. 14212. [Class 39(iii)] An electric paint scraper comprises a base plate 1 having a recess 5 on its upper face, carrying a handle 3 and an interchangeable scraper 6 lying in the recess heated by an element 9, in combination with a protective cover plate 13 and means for connecting the element to a source of electricity. Wing nuts 15 on clamping screws 8 rigidly sandwich the element 9 between the base plate and a pressure plate 12 which is separated by nuts 14 from the cover 13. The scraper 6 is forked at one end to permit its adjustably engaging the front screw 8. A thermostat may be combined with the tool to regulate the degree of heating.
