Abstract
Abstract 597,762. Constructional and educational toys. DUCAT, N. Aug. 25, 1945, No. 21860. [Classes 132 (iii) and 146 (ii)] A constructional toy and educational device comprises a base 1 having equidistant holes 2, and elements 3 each having a body 4 (preferably spherical and of equal size) provided with radial holes 6 and a radially projecting internal spigot 5. The spigots and holes may be tapered to provide a reasonably tight fit and one of the holes 6 may be aligned with the spigot, the others having their axes at right angles to that of the spigot. The elements may be built up on the base in various groupings, e.g., a column with lateral branches as shown in Fig. 3, for the purpose of teaching young children addition &c. in an amusing manner.
