Apparatus for indicating or recording fluid pressure
Abstract
Abstract 596,152. Lamps. RONNEBECK, H. R., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. July 23, 1945, No. 18802. [Class 75 (iv)] [Also in Groups XXXV, XXXVIII and XL] Fluid pressure is applied, e.g. through diaphragm 15 and stem 14, to vary the area of contact between two resilient transparent members 10, 11, e.g. of glass or quartz, so as to control the amount of light from a source 7 falling on a photo-electric cell 2. The light is internally reflected in member 11 except where members 10, 11 are in contact. To avoid variation of intensity of the light source 7 with ambient temperature, it may be enclosed by a jacket in which liquid at constant temperature is circulated; alternatively, it may be surrounded by a temperature variable resistance in the supply circuit, so that as temperature increases, the resistance increases and current through the lamp decreases.
