Improvements relating to laundry pegs
Abstract
Abstract 588,854. Clothes pegs. WEST, M. L. M. and STRAUSZ, H. J. Dec. 28, 1945. No. 2465. [Class 44] Rubber clothes pegs having jaws a, b separated by a slit c, and with wings or finger-pieces d which, when pressed together, open the jaws, are provided with leaf springs tending to open the wings and close the jaws, the spring e being embedded in the rubber as shown, or disposed in and fitting the recess f between the wings, in which case the spring may be plated or otherwise treated to prevent rust. The pegs may be cut from rubber sheet or moulded. In the latter case the wings may be of harder or less elastic material than the jaws. As shown, the slit c ends in a circular aperture g to prevent splitting of the material above it.
