Transmitter-type pressure gauges and the like
Abstract
Abstract 577,283. Telemotor devices. POWER JETS, Ltd., and WALKER, D. N. Aug. 29, 1941, No. 11082. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A pressure gauge or indicator which indicates changes of pressure in a remote device is connected therewith by a completely filled hydraulic connection comprising sectional piping the mating ends of which are formed with contacting rubber &c. retainers 5 which may be pressed into position by split rings bearing on their cylindrical flanges. When the union is broken, protective caps may be screwed on the ends. The retainers may be inclined to the axis, or curved, to increase the contact surface. They may be protected against excessive displacement by spaced perforated backing plates. An adjustable capacity may be provided for zeroizing the gauge. The pipe sections may be secured together by collars 3, 3A, by screwed sleeves engaging both sections, or by collars 29 having extension fingers 29A, 29B engaged by a split hinged collar 31. The sections may be filled with liquid by a hypodermic needle piercing the retainers to supply liquid and vent air, the punctures being afterwards sealed.
