Improvements in and relating to high frequency electric heating apparatus
Abstract
Abstract 556,292. High frequency electric heating. REDIFFUSION, Ltd., and ADORJAN, P. July 23, 1942, No. 10305. [Class 39 (iii)] In high frequency electric heating apparatus, e.g., for moulding plastics, industrial ovens, or therapeutical apparatus, employing a pair of spaced members 4, 5 between which material to be heated is located in a high frequency field, any variation in the distance between the members 4, 5 varies the electrical characteristics of the tuned circuit 7, 8, by varying the capacity between the members 4, 5. This is corrected and the tuning maintained by providing electrodes 12 movable with the member 4, associated with fixed electrodes 11, so that the total capacity remains unchanged by the movement. Other mechanical couplings between the plate 4 and the condenser may be employed, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown). In Fig. 4 a cam 25 on the plate 4 moves a rod 23 carrying the core 22 of a variable inductance.
