[Class 81 (ii)] A rectal plug and ointment applicator of rubber or other resilient material comprises a bulbous tapered head a, an elongated neck b, . a terminal button c, and a cord, string, catgut, or.other reinforcement d to prevent stretching of the neck on withdrawal. The button c is preferably flat on the outer side and tapered as at c<1> on the other, and may have an embedded reinforcing disc e. The tapered surface c' may be fluted, or ribbed. The part a may be hollow.
