Improvements relating to wall or like plugs and the manner of manufacturing the same

Abstract

Abstract <PICT:0474236/IV/1> Wall and like plugs are constructed wholly or mainly of fibrous material which has been impregnated with a synthetic resin, e.g. a phenol-formaldehyde condensation product, capable of hardening on the application of heat and pressure. The resin may be in powder or liquid form or may be dissolved or dispersed in a liquid. The plugs may be formed by extruding a composition of impregnated short fibres into a tube having longitudinal grooves or lines of weakness b, or by cementing together in tubular form strands of long staple fibrous material previously impregnated.
