Abstract
Abstract 472,417. Oscillographs. GEORGE, Ltd., W. & J., and READ, C. W. W. April 9, 1936, No. 10456. [Class 37] An oscillograph, particularly for demonstrating alternating-current phenomena, comprises an oscillating mirror 9 carried on projections 8 located between horizontal knifeedges 10 and arms 7 connected to the vibrating part 6 of a loud-speaker unit 5. Light from an optical unit 11 is reflected from the mirror 9 to a rotatable mirror 14, and from thence to a fixed curved screen 15. The turntable 13 of a gramophone 12 supports the mirror 14, and records are provided for demonstrating wavelength, amplitude, resonance, beats, modulations and other waveforms, electrical pick-up being provided and supplying the vibratory system 5. The mirror 9 has an extension handle 8a for manual adjustment of its initial setting.
