Abstract
Abstract 453,187. Finishing fabrics. LYTH, J. J., and LOWE, J. M., Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada. July 8, 1935, No. 19379. [Class 42 (i)] Shrinking.-The fabric 21 is steamed or damped at 28 and then passed between a heated drum 16 and a rubber belt 15, the belt being compressed at 20 between the drum 16 and a screwadjusted roller 17. Both the drum 16 and roller 17 rotate freely. The fabric leaves the drum 16 in a shrunk state. The shrinking is fixed by the steam cans 30-34 and the fabric is calendered between the hard and soft rolls 42, 41.
