[Class 140] A covering or in sulating sheet is made by winding upon a drum a one or several spun glass threads close together and approximately parallel, binding the threads together by means of an adhesive, cutting the sheet so formed, e.g. parallel to the drum axis, as at c, reapplying it to the drum so that a further layer of glass threads applied by winding lie at an angle to the threads in the first layer, and binding the further layer of threads together and to the first layer by means of an adhesive. More than two layers may be so united. Rubber-containing adhesive may be used, applied by brushing.
